3 Marketing Tasks You Need to Do in September
September is a great month, one of my personal favs to be honest. Why do I love Fall so much? Well because it marks the start to several things I love...school, the holidays and cooler weather. From a business standpoint, Fall is an important time of year for a number of reasons. September marks the start to the last quarter of the fiscal year. With that there are 3 marketing tasks you need to do this month to prepare for the last quarter and plan for the upcoming year.Get these on your to-do list ASAP!1. Plan your holiday promotions - Can you hear those jingle bells? They'll be here sooner than you think. If you have not already, you NEED to not only think about what holiday promotions you are going to offer but also how you are going to advertise them. I don't care if you are offering sweaters buy one, get one free, if you aren't telling people about your sale, no one is buying sweaters.2. Assess what you did over the past year - With this year wrapping up and 2015 in our sights, it's time to reflect on what marketing efforts worked and which did not. There will be some that didn't work and that's ok! The purpose of reflecting on what worked is so that you can start #3.3. Start planning for 2015 - That's right, I know 2015 seems far away but trust me, it's not. You'll get busy with the holidays and before you know it, you'll be blowing noise makers, wearing a party hat and sipping champagne at midnight welcoming 2015. Take what worked marketing wise for you this year and build off of it. You can even repeat successful marketing intiatives that you've done this year, no need to re-create the wheel if something is working for you. Don't start 2015 with a hang over from all that champagne and no marketing plan, it's bad for business!Planning, reflecting and creating a strategy can be overwhelming. If this post made your to-do list grow and you're not sure where to start, let's talk. You may need a consulting call to help keep you get on track or to help you brainstorm about the next big promotion you should offer. If you've got a great holiday promotion you're planning, I'd love to hear about it. Tell me about it in the comments or head over to my Facebook page and share.
